Looking for a SaaS Alerts alternative for Microsoft 365?
The first question is whether you want software for your engineers to investigate Microsoft 365 activity, or a wider platform with automated response across SaaS applications.
What the broader platform offers
SaaS Alerts advertises monitoring across Microsoft 365 and other SaaS services, automated threat response, and integrations with MSP tools. Its website directs buyers to request a quotation.
Where Vigil Alerts fits
Vigil gives engineers a focused view of suspicious Microsoft 365 sign-ins, inbox rule changes, forwarding and mailbox access activity. Choose self-hosting on infrastructure you control, or a dedicated virtual server and application installation hosted for your organisation.
| Requirement | SaaS Alerts | Vigil Alerts |
|---|---|---|
| Application scope | Microsoft 365 and other SaaS services | Microsoft 365 account and mailbox monitoring |
| Response model | Automated response capabilities advertised | Engineer-led investigation and response |
| Deployment choice | Confirm architecture and options with vendor | Self-hosted or dedicated hosted |
| Budgeting | Request the appropriate vendor quotation | Published monthly allowance tiers |
Why self-hosting might matter to your MSP
You may already operate servers, handle backups and control who can access your administration tools. A self-hosted installation lets the monitoring application sit within that operating model. It also gives you the responsibility for keeping the server secure and maintained.
With dedicated hosting, your purchasing organisation gets its own virtual server and Vigil application instance. An MSP can onboard several customer tenants within that installation. It is not automatically a separate server for every customer tenant.
Could you pay less for the monitoring you need?
Vigil’s up-to-1,000-user plan is £99/month self-hosted or £199/month dedicated hosted, excluding VAT. Compare those figures with a current SaaS Alerts quote for your actual scope. We have not invented a competing per-user rate or a percentage saving.
A lower software bill only helps if your existing engineers can handle the review and response work. Include their time and your infrastructure costs. You would be changing the service scope if you removed automated response or monitoring for other applications.
When to keep the broader product on your shortlist
If monitoring Google Workspace or other SaaS applications, automated remediation or particular integrations are important requirements, assess them explicitly. Do not assume Vigil provides them because both products monitor Microsoft 365.
