Vigil Alerts
HomeComparisonsOctiga vs Vigil Alerts

Do you need security baseline enforcement, or account activity monitoring?

If you are considering an Octiga alternative, identify which parts of its service you need to retain before comparing the price.

What Octiga offers beyond alerts

Octiga advertises Microsoft 365 security baselines, monitoring, auto-remediation, PSA integration and client reporting. Its broader proposition includes keeping tenant security configurations aligned.

What Vigil’s monitoring is for

Vigil Alerts brings supported Microsoft 365 account and mailbox activity to an engineer’s attention. It focuses on sign-ins, inbox rule changes, external forwarding and mailbox access changes, with a human deciding what to do next.

When a narrower tool could fit

Your team may already have a process for configuring tenants and maintaining security settings. If the outstanding requirement is to review suspicious mailbox and account events, demonstrate that workflow rather than buying a second configuration platform by default.

Self-hosting allows Vigil to run on infrastructure your team controls. Dedicated hosting gives the purchasing organisation a separate virtual server and application installation without taking on server operation itself.

Use a current quote to assess savings

Vigil starts at £49/month self-hosted or £149/month dedicated hosted for up to 250 monitored users, excluding VAT. We have not verified a current public Octiga unit price, so we do not publish one or claim a calculated discount against it.

Compare your actual quotation with the appropriate Vigil plan, including infrastructure and engineer time. If you rely on baseline enforcement, automated remediation or particular integrations, budget to retain those functions separately or keep the broader product.

Ask for the scenario that matters to you

For example, ask how each product handles a newly added inbox rule on a director’s account. Check how the event is surfaced, who reviews it and who takes action. Detection timing and available data depend on the deployment and Microsoft data sources; do not treat an illustrative dashboard as proof.

Start with the Microsoft 365 events you need to review

Show us the account activity you want to monitor and your current operating process. We will demonstrate the relevant Vigil Alerts workflow and confirm deployment, monitoring scope and costs before you order.
